Crawling back to the Cross

It's quite sad that I wasn't able to do a post on the church wedding at which I officiated as a member of the choir yesterday and its going to be inappropriate on a Sunday but hopefully next week Saturday I'll do a late post on it.

Straight to the business for the day,  I saw a 'line' on my colleagues (a person I respect and admire so much) bbm personal message, and I was inspired to do a post on it.

... Anything that contends with your daily devotion to God in prayers, contends for your life...

Soon as I saw this on my colleagues pm, I did some soul searching and realised that I had strayed too far from my source, I broke down in my spirit because I realised that I couldn't focus on the cross as I used to, because the cares of this world was a stumbling block.

The quest for a good life, the dream life of wealth, good health and healthy relationships had overthrown the more important things.
It's worse because my nagging conscience seems to have decided to go mute on me; an indicator that I strayed too far which is redolent of when parents keep quiet over a black sheep after several warnings.

A lot of people are trapped by the vicious cycle of work, sleep and it continues the next day- what is often captioned as the rat race, that they can't devote time to God as much as they want to. I'm scolding myself not because I don't worship God, or because I have stopped going to church but because I feel whatever I am doing presently is grossly inadequate, compared to where I used to be.

Hard work is good, but grace is better. I keep driving myself, forgetting that when Jesus takes the wheel, I'll arrive safely without stress.

Today I have made my decision to seek first his Kingdom and let every other piece complete the puzzle of my life as directed by the supreme being. I know it may not be an easy task but I'm sure that no matter how long it takes, I'll crawl back to my source, I'll live by grace and the holy spirit will be my best pal.

Happy New Week friends!!!
