I woke up this morning in thesame bed I slept last night; I probably had too much expectations that all things will become new. I can't believe how grown I am now and that I didn't camp by my phone waiting for who was going to be the first caller.
Well.. On a second thought, I don't think I have outgrown camping by my phone on my birthday eve, I think I was too tired to have any conversation and also, no thanks to PHCN- battery was blinking red, hence I was compelled to switch off my phone and charge my phone at the expense of the laptop's battery.
I woke up this morning and I felt an endless sense of gratitude, first to GOD, who has always decided, and will always decide the course of my life. My gratitude became more profound when I remembered the family I was born into, at that point I asked rhetorically: 'Who is better than the M'LARD clan???' They are the supportive and wonderful people I know.
I woke up this morning to countless text messages and social media buzz and I couldn't help but be grateful for the kind hearts that surround me.
I woke up this morning and took a quick glance at the past years with a view to ascertaining if I was where I should be, I scoffed a bit at the thought and quickly discarded it, because such thoughts naturally make the insatiable man rueful. As I walk gallantly out of the house in my birthday dress(not birthday suit o), I am happy and grateful for the start of a personal new year and another opportunity to score!
